Get ready for an exciting event! The countdown is on: from October 14 to 22, 2023, the nationwide unique Moving Image Festival B3 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany will once again be the hot spot for international and local creatives, media professionals, and "digital natives" of all ages. In its 11th year, B3 presents the most innovative trends in film, art, games, VR and AI.
With an international film program, art exhibitions, a talent platform, conference with workshops and master classes led by prominent media professionals, the festival offers diverse opportunities for creative exchange within a dynamic, constantly reinventing scene. The focus is on storytelling in moving images. Works and projects will be presented that demonstrate both established applications in film and art and the respective "state of the art" of pioneering artificial intelligence technologies.
This year, the festival is themed around current global challenges under the motto "Horizons" as a metaphor for creative and boundary-crossing thinking. Because, better than ever, the digital age offers us the tools to look beyond the horizon and to develop ideas for answering analog existential questions with artistic design in virtual "metaverses".
The B3 festival center is the Astor Film Lounge cinema in the heart of Frankfurt. The B3 art exhibition, the B3 film festival, and the B3 conference program will be presented here. Additional venues and important partners will include the Palmengarten Frankfurt with an artistic contribution in the Haus Rosenbrunn as well as the Frankfurter Buchmesse / THE ARTS+.
Main supporter of the B3 is the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and the Arts. As in the previous years sponsors and partners include Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain, Frankfurt Economic Development GmbH, Sylvia and Friedrich von Metzler, the Frankfurter Buchmesse / THE ARTS+, the Palmengarten Frankfurt, Film London, Hessen Film & Medien and Astor Film Lounge Frankfurt. The organizer of the B3 is University of Art and Design in Offenbach (HfG).
